Automatic Device Discovery
Automatic discovery finds SSH endpoints, identifies supported devices, and turns selected results into saved connections. The CLI and Web console share the same latest persisted discovery run.
Start a scan
Targets accept individual IPs, CIDRs, and last-octet ranges such as 192.168.60.10-30. A run supports up to 4,096 unique addresses, 16 ports, and three ordered probe credentials.
Discovery first checks TCP reachability, then performs SSH identification with the credentials in order. Successful probes can record the detected Profile, platform, model, software version, and credential reference.
Output and latest results
By default, an interactive TUI opens after scanning. Use --no-tui for plain output, --json for automation, or --auto-save to save every newly identified device.
The latest run remains available without starting another scan:
Starting a new run replaces the previous discovery snapshot and its Task Center record. Saved connections are not removed.
Save identified devices
Only identified, importable endpoints are saved. rauto blocks duplicate endpoint imports and will not silently replace a connection; use --overwrite only when replacement is intentional. Default names include the detected platform and address, with nonstandard ports added when needed.
Web workspace
The Web Auto Discovery workspace exposes target and port inputs, up to three credentials, concurrency and timeout controls, phase-aware progress, status filters, search, selection, and connection import.
